Guest Post: 10 TCBY Must-Do's for Mom

KIDS OFFER UP TOP 10 WAYS to make mom feel special on her big day

As Economy Remains Tough for Many, TCBY Tops List of Affordable Pleasures for Mom and Family to Enjoy
SALT LAKE CITY, UT. (April 26, 2011) - This Mother’s Day, the kids are alleviating some of the pressure dad’s face, especially in a recovering economy, by breaking open piggy banks and getting hands on with thoughtful gifts for mom on her special day. Frozen yogurt pioneer TCBY is leading the charge, recognizing since its founding 30 years ago how much moms and their familes have been a part of its heritage. With a little help from some of its younger customers, TCBY is sharing 10 great ways to make mom feel special on Mother’s Day… without breaking the bank.

                                                    10 TCBY Must-Do’s for Mom

1. Healthy treat – take mom to your local TCBY for a free cup or cone of The Country’s Best (and healthiest) Yogurt
2. Dedication – surprise mom with an original YouTube Mother's Day song
3. Green thumb – gather a pack of seeds and plant mom her favorite flower in the garden
4. Capture – upload your favorite photos at RitzPix.com and design a personalized photo book
5. Handmade craft – grab some glue, string and pasta to make mom a one-of-a-kind necklace
6. Relax – have your siblings chip in for a Groupon or LivingSocial deal at the local spa
7. Alone time – allow mom to have some “me time” whether it’s a bubble bath or an hour to exercise
8. Connect – find mom the best free apps for her smart phone (AllRecipes.com Dinner Spinner, ShopSavvy, Mint.com...to name a few)
9. A private art show – let mom be the guest of honor at the kitchen table as your draw a masterpiece devoted to her
10. A gift that keeps giving – give mom the opportunity to feel special everyday with a personalized book of coupons to use throughout the year

For the fourth year in a row, TCBY will offer free frozen yogurt to moms on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 8. Moms will have the choice of their favorite flavors such as popular White Chocolate Mousse, Strawberry or limited time offer Watermelon Sorbet served in a cup or cone.

TCBY’s frozen yogurt is made with real dairy and provides the healthy benefits of live active cultures, or “probiotics” as they are popularly known today. This nutritious treat promotes health benefits including an enhanced immune system, stronger bones and improved digestive health, all while remaining low calorie and fat free. TCBY also offers many gluten free and sugar free options, making it a treat that everyone can enjoy. Mothers can relax knowing that TCBY does the work for them by providing healthily benefits with a delicious taste the whole family loves.

“It has been such a milestone year for TCBY and families, especially mothers, have been a very important part of TCBY’s history,” says Tim Casey, CEO of TCBY. “We have spent 30 years perfecting the elements of what makes TCBY’s frozen yogurt great tasting and nutritious, and are excited to lend a helping hand to mothers of all ages. Mothers deserve nothing but the best and we look forward to kids joining us in the effort to thank moms nationwide with a special frozen treat gift.”

Guest Post by Hapari Swimewear: Does Wii Fit Really Work?

It's spring and summer will be here before we know it.  We are all looking forward to the warmer weather, and it's time to start getting swimwear ready!  My husband and I have been working really hard trying to get ready for a beach trip we have coming up soon, so I was so excited when I was able to team up with Hapari Swimwear to bring you this guest post.  Hapari has some of the cutest swimwear I have seen any where.  It's hard to go shopping at the mall and find cute, reasonably priced, modest swimwear, and if you do the selection is always so limited!  I heard about Hapari just last year when a friend recommended them to me.  I was immediately impressed by the selection and prices.  I also love that they are out of Utah!

*Be sure you check back tomorrow because Hapari has generously offered to sponsor a giveaway!*

Does Wii Fit Really Work? An At-Home Fitness Review

It’s not really news anymore that the United States has an obesity problem, with one in four people being classified as obese in 2010. This news has reached the media loud and clear, and many different organizations and companies have stepped up to provide solutions. City governments are putting bans on foods with high caloric counts aimed at children, movie theaters are striving to offer healthy alternatives to popcorn chock full of liquid butter and the FDA has proposed that fast food establishments post the calorie information of their food on menus. However, watching what we eat is not enough, since a healthy lifestyle depends on equal portions of nutrition and exercise.

The Wii Fit is one product aimed at getting more people active rather than passive about their weight. Because Wii Fit has a heftier price tag than some other exercise products (though there are rumors the price will be dropping soon), many people are hesitant to try it for fear that it won’t work. Here’s the catch: Wii Fit really works—if you actually use it.

Like with any exercise program, Wii Fit takes some work. While it is geared toward having fun, it still takes effort and dedication, and for someone who is looking for an ‘easy out’, it won’t magically make a person thinner.

If used properly, Wii Fit will help its users lose some pounds and get more active—studies have proven that it works. Forbes reported on a study by a professor of exercise science, Scott Owens, which took six months to monitor people’s activity levels. Wii Fit affects the overall cardiovascular fitness, balance and flexibility of a participant, but a lot of studies have shown that people quickly give up and let the box gather dust. If you’re dedicated and committed to using exergames, then the Wii Fit program could work for you.

We all want to look our best and be fit. One way of doing that is through exercise. If you need just a little extra motivation in order to get yourself swimsuit ready, then check out Wii Fit to see how it could work for you.

April Fool's Day!

Happy April Fool's Day!

I think April Fool's Day is so much fun, but this year I'm kind of a slacker on it!  My little girl has been sick so I haven't been able to put too much time into thinking up some great pranks.  I was trying to think of something cute to do for my son's teachers.  When I checked my email today and my friend is so great she must have read my mind because she sent me over this recipe for sweet spaghetti and meatballs.  It's supposed to go on top of cupcakes, but I made it on top of cookies because I had everything I needed to make them quick at home.  You'll have to check out the real recipe for a better picture, I cut the hole a little big in my bag so my spaghetti is kind of thick.  But my kids thought this was great and are so excited to "trick" dad with his "spaghetti" dinner tonight!

What are your April Fool's Day plans?
