Similac Voluntary Recall

If your baby is currently using Similac baby formula, before you use any more, make sure you know about the Similac Voluntary Recall.  Here is the email I received from Parenting.com:

Infant Formula Recall You Should Know About

If you feed your baby formula, it's time to check your cabinets. Certain Similac-brand powder infant formulas are being voluntarily recalled following an internal quality review, which detected the possibility of the presence of a small common beetle in the product. The United States Food and Drug Adminstration (FDA) has determined that while the formula containing these beetles poses no immediate health risk, it's possible that infants who consume formula containing the beetles or their larvae could experience symptoms of gastrointestinal discomfort and refuse to eat.

Find out more about this Similac formula recall -- including which lot numbers are affected and how to get your money back.

Freebies in my Mail Today...Guess What Finally Came!!!

Today's mail brought me a surprise, and I was so excited, just wish it came a few months ago!

Do you remember the Sara Lee Toy Story promotion I posted here?  I was saving up my UPC's to get a FREE Buzz Lightyear lunch box for my little boy.  Well, then you might remember my post here about the letter I received telling me they were out of stock on the lunch box they offered but they were going to replace it with one of the same value.  Well, here it is!  A cute Toys Story 3D tin lunch box!  Too bad we had to buy a lunch box for my son in the meantime (well, I took advantage of the buy a book bag, get a free lunch box at Toys R Us so I didn't really buy one) but I'm so glad it came!

Babies R Us: Get Up To $50 in FREE Gift Cards With Purchase

If you have a little one in diapers, you know how fast you go through them!  It's crazy!

September 24th - October 14th, Babies R Us is offering up to $50 in FREE Babies R Us gift cards with in store purchase.

Here's the deal:

You MUST FIRST buy any 2 Pampers Diapers value packs.  You will then be given a $15 gift card at checkout.

Then you can buy any of the following and get an additional $5 gift card with each purchase.  Looks like it's only 1 per item you buy, so you can't buy multiples of these items and get multiple gift cards, I think.  Here's the items:

Tide Laundry Detergent (150 oz or higher)

Dreft Laundry Detergent (100 oz or higher)

Pampers Wipes value box (504-616 count)

Pampers Extra Protection Diapers box (56-64 count)

Bounty Giant Paper Towels (12 count, regularly $17.99)

Charmin Ultra Soft Toilet Paper (30 count, regularly $17.99)

Pampers Easy Up trainers box (60-68 count)

Ok, so if you buy all of these things at regular price, you will have spent a small fortune!  So here's what I'm thinking: it's not a good deal if you're buying it just to get the gift cards.  The reason I'm letting you know about it is because I know if I need 1 box of diapers, pretty soon I'm going to need another so I might as well buy 2 at the same time and get a $15 gift card while I'm at it.  Then I might need some wipes and pull ups, and might be able to add an extra $10 to that gift card total.  This isn't a deal I'd run out and grab, but it's worth noticing if you have a little extra money right now and can stock up!  :)

Restaurant.com: 80% Off + FREE $10 Gift Certificate with Purchase

Just when I thought Restaurant.com couldn't get much better, they surprised me!  Now through Sunday, September 26th, purchase a gift certificate, save 80%, and you'll get a FREE $10 gift certificate!  That is amazing!  Just use coupon code AUTUMN.  My husband and I had a cheap $15 (including tip!) dinner date using one of our Restaurant.com gift certificates.

Gymboree Fall Sale: Save Up To 60%

Gymboree is having their fall sale where you can save up to 60% on their fall styles.

But what I'm excited about is that I get to use my GymBucks next week on adorable Holiday items!

I think they have the best Christmas outfits for kids every year!  I love to buy Christmas card picture outfits for my kids there, and love it even more when I can get them with my GymBucks!  Christmas is about the only time of year that I splurge and buy the entire outfit from Gymboree for each of my kids.

New Release Kids Movies We're Excited About

There are a lot of really cute movies coming out soon!  We really don't usually buy this many movies, but I think my kids stockings might be full of movies this Christmas!  ;)

Here are the ones we're looking forwards to:

You can grab Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue (Two-Disc Blu-ray/ DVD Combo) for only $21.99 (+ FREE super saver shipping when you spend $25) from Amazon, but I think I'll be buying mine at Toys R Us with the coupons I printed.

I can't believe my kids didn't watch this movie until about a week ago when my niece brought it up to the cabin!  It's definitely a classic!  My little girl loves yellow, so she fell in love with Belle in her yellow dress.  If you have an old copy of the movie you can register that UPC with Disney Movie Rewards to get a $10 off coupon, otherwise the best deal I've seen so far is through Amazon for Beauty and the Beast (Three-Disc Diamond Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo w/ Blu-ray Packaging) for $24.99.

Another thing we don't do a whole lot of is take our kids to see New Releases in the movie theater.  We did, however, take them to see How to Train Your Dragon and Toy Story 3.  My kids loved both of them!  I'll still be watching for better deals on these but if you'd rather secure your copy you can get How to Train Your Dragon (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Dragon Double Pack) [Blu-ray] for $24.99.

Toy Story 3 (Four-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy) is going for $28.99, and I'm sure we'll find better deals than this before it comes out, right?!!!

Did I leave out any fabulous movies you and your kids are excited about?

Chuck. E. Cheese Voluntary Recall

If you've been to Chuck E. Cheese recently check your house to see if you have any of these items lying around.  Here's the information I received:

Chuck E. Cheese's* is voluntarily recalling its Light-Up Ring and Star Glasses. The ring comes in blue, green, purple, yellow, and pink colors, and the glasses come in a red color. The Light-Up Ring was either sold as part of a promotional treasure chest cup from August 2009 through June 25, 2010 or distributed, at no cost, during several Parent-Teacher Association conventions in April 2009, July 2009 and March 2010 through May 2010. The Star Glasses were distributed as part of our Birthday Star package beginning April 2010 through August 2010.

If crushed or pulled apart, the plastic casing on these products may break and possibly expose the batteries, which could pose an ingestion hazard to children.
If you have one of these products, please bring it to your local Chuck E. Cheese's, where you may choose to receive: for the Light-Up Ring either a refund of $1.00 plus 4 Chuck E. Cheese's tokens or a Soccer promo-cup plus 4 Chuck E. Cheese's tokens, or for the Star Glasses either a refund of $4.99 or our Flashing Hands prize product.
If you have any questions regarding this recall, contact us at (888) 778-7193 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. CST Monday through Friday or email us at guestrelations@cecentertainment.com. A copy of this notice is also available on our web site at: www.chuckecheese.com.

The Mountain Between Us - By Charles Martin

I just finished reading a fabulous book that I couldn't put down!  I receive The Mountain Between Us: A Novel by Charles Martin, FREE from Read It Forward.  I was wrapped up in this book from the very beginning, maybe because it starts out at the Salt Lake airport, so close to home! My husband is a huge outdoors guys, he loves hiking and hunting, and he loves the Uintas, where the majority of this story takes place.  It was fun to talk to him about it and tell them where Ben and Ashley were in the story, because he knows the area so well.   It's hard to describe this book without giving anything away, but it is an incredible survival story and love story all in one.  My favorite part was the ending, because it was so unpredictable!  I have never read a book like this.  After reading it I now want to read more from Charles Martin, and it looks like there are quite a few!

If you haven't checked out Read It Forward before, you really need to!  I will let you know when the next free books are available to request.  I have entered 5 times and have received 3 FREE books!  How awesome is that!?!
